Beauty and Confidence comes from feeling comfortable in your own skin. Our world’s perception of beauty has become so warped. Who created these standards for beauty anyways? The world all too often views women as objects and something to be looked at. But guess what? It is SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!! Your body is an instrument, it allows you to do so many things besides impressing and wooing the world! We as woman are so much more than bodies, we can inspire, we can comfort, we can love, we can serve, we can dream.
To me style is about embracing your personality and who you are as a person. Your style should define what you feel that day and who you dream of becoming. I love dressing up! I love wearing skirts and dresses (even when I am not headed to the office) because I feel like I am more motivated and successful when I dress the part. That is just me though! What style brings out the best in YOU?! Wear that!!! It doesn’t matter what others are doing around you. Happiness never comes from trying to be someone else or look like someone else! EVER!! We are created different for a purpose! There is no cookie cutter mold that we are so often taught to believe.
Want to know a secret? I have had a slender body type all my life – and I can’t even explain to you how insecure I have felt at times. I felt too thin, I felt I was missing curves in the right places, I felt that people were constantly judging me or thinking I count calories or have an eating disorder (I never have, but I have heard some horrible rumors). It is so easy to wish and dream that you were a certain body type and you looked a certain way. But in reality, there isn’t a “One-type fits all body type”. It just doesn’t exist!! Be proud of who you are and be proud of the body God has blessed you with!
Fashion is for every one, no matter your shape, color, size, height, weight, personality – style is all about letting the world know know WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU BELIEVE!! What you wear sends so many messages to everyone you see, whether you know them or you are walking down the isles of a grocery store. Let your fashion speak your message – to me that is what confidence is all about! 🙂
